Assistant Project Manager

Our client, an established, reputable and traditional PQS consultancy has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join their retail and leisure team. A newly created post in recation to increased workload in this sector. Projects will include Retail Fit Out/Roll Out/New Build Projects (incl High Street Stores and Retail Parks) and Leisure Fit Out/New Build Projects (including Hotels)
Experience
- Preferably 1-3 years’ experience as a construction project manager (preferably in a consultancy environment)
Typical Duties including working alongside Senior PMs to:-
- Programme Management
- Attend Scoping Meetings and record
- Attend Site Meetings and record
- Attend Handovers and record
- Attend Defects Meetings and record
- Monitor Works in progress and report direct to client (incl daily reporting if necessary on short term/overnight programmes)
- Monitor Works and co-ordinate completion of the main works contractors and any direct order contractors
- Assist QS teams in agreeing Variations & Final Accounts
- Reviewing Drawings alongside Brief
Qualifications/Skills:
- Degree in Construction Project Management or Surveying.
- Formal qualification (APM) or working towards a qualification in Project Management , but not essential
- Microsoft Window’s IT competency (principally Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Confident communicator and strong interpersonal skills when engaging with clients, designers, contractors and colleagues
- Well presented
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proactive
- Flexible
- Organised to meet deadlines as required by workload
