Senior / Quantity Surveyor (with Budapest based travel)

Our client, a small project & cost management consultancy is seeking to hire a versatile Senior Quantity Surveyor for a luxury 5 star hotel project in the city of Budapest.

As the projects’ dedicated surveyor, you will principally be based out of our clients’ Central London office but with frequent travel to Budapest (salary paid £GBP) but as the project moves towards construction phases, you will spend more time in the capital city. Whilst still to be finalised, estimated project completion will be in 2021.

The project is situated in a prime location, the existing property is a circa 100,000sqft vacant building set over 6 floors in an historic part of the city. When converted into a luxury brand hotel (5*) it will have over 150 rooms and will become a very highly sought after hotel destination. Project estimated value c25-30m Euros.

As forming a partnership with the local developer & a global hotelier, your initial role will be to lead cost planning and design phases and manage the local main contractor through project delivery stages. Throughout, you will be responsible for providing the client with robust commercial advice & cost control through procurement stages to project handover.

Any candidates applying must have a current working knowledge of the Budapest property market, preferably experienced within either the hospitality & leisure sectors and / or the luxury residential market. Our client is open to speaking with either consultancy or contractor trained surveyors – candidates will have a minimum of 5 years quantity surveying experience. 

Successful candidates must have a Quantity Surveying degree (or equivalent) and preferably advanced professional qualification too. Candidates relocating must be able to speak English competently as well as have a proficient level of either Polish, German, Russian or Hungarian. Candidates must be European passport holders.

Our client is experiencing a period of sustained growth, to include other new European projects in Spain & France alongside their already established project portfolio in London. Whilst this project will headline your intial employment you can also expect to be invovled in other London based projects too.
